The Most Beautiful Heart - Inspiring Story

"It is not always about the physical beauty but what is inside that is important."

The Most Beautiful Heart
Author Unknown

One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect.

There was not a mark or a flaw in it. Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart.

Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said, "Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine."

The crowd and the young man looked at the old man's heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn't fit quite right and there were several jagged edges. In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing.

The people stared -- how can he say his heart is more beautiful, they thought? The young man looked at the old man's heart and saw its state and laughed.

"You must be joking," he said. "Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears."

"Yes," said the old man, "Yours is perfect looking but I would never trade with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love - I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart, but because the pieces aren't exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared.

"Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn't returned a piece of his heart to me. These are the empty gouges -- giving love is taking a chance.

Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is?"

The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out. He offered it to the old man with trembling hands.

The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece from his old scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young man's heart. It fit, but not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges. The young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old man's heart flowed into his.

They embraced and walked away side by side.

Moral of the Story:
The story of "The Most Beautiful Heart" highlights how authentic beauty is found in emotional depth rather than physical perfection. It teaches that the scars and imperfections we gather from loving, sacrificing, and caring for others make our hearts far more meaningful and exquisitely beautiful than flawless, untested ones

CYNICS GUIDE TO LIFE!

The journey of a thousand miles begins
with a broken fan belt and a leaky tire.

I believe for every drop of rain that falls,
a flower grows. And a foundation leaks
and a ball game gets rained out
and a car rusts and...

Follow your dream!
Unless it's the one where you're at work
in your underwear during a fire drill.

Do not walk behind me,
for I may not lead.
Do not walk ahead of me,
for I may not follow.
Do not walk beside me, either;
just leave me alone.

If you don't like my driving,
don't call anyone.
Just take another road.
That's why the highway department
made so many of them.

If a motorist cuts you off,
just turn the other cheek.
Nothing gets the message across like a good mooning.

When I'm feeling down, I like to whistle.
It makes the neighbor's dog run to
the end of his chain and gag himself.

It's always darkest before dawn.
So if you're going to steal the
neighbor's newspaper,
that's the time to do it.

A handy telephone tip:
Keep a small chalkboard near the phone.
That way, when a salesman calls,
you can hold the receiver up to it
and run your fingernails across it
until he hangs up.

Each day I try to enjoy something
from each of the four food groups:
the bonbon group, the salty-snack group, the caffeine group,
and the "whatever-the-thing- in-the-tinfoil-in-the-back-of-the-fridge-is" group.

Into every life some rain must fall.
Usually when your car windows are down.

Just remember...
You gotta break some eggs
to make a real mess on the neighbor's car!

When you find yourself getting irritated with someone,
try to remember that all men are brothers ...
and just give them a noogie or an Indian burn.

This morning I woke up
to the unmistakable scent
of pigs in a blanket.
That's the price you pay
for letting the relatives stay over.

It's a small world.
So you gotta use your elbows a lot.

Keep your nose to the grindstone
and your shoulder to the wheel...
it's cheaper than plastic surgery.

This land is your land.
This land is my land.
So stay on your land.

Love is like a roller coaster:
when it's good you don't want to get off,
and when it isn't...
you can't wait to throw up.

It's Not What We Have

If it's not what we have
Then is it what we don't,
How can how much we give away
Be such a thing of note.

If I sit and hold it tight
'Cause I don't want to share,
Will you want to be my friend
If I'm just too sad to care.

Yet, if I do give you a little lick
Then you will feel good too,
So maybe it's not really in the creamy delights
But, just the sitting here, so cozy like
With the cutest you.
